Each February, Cub Scout Pack 27 continues and long standing tradition with the Blue and Gold Banquet. This is a time for scouts, parents, family members and friends to gather and enjoy the benefits of scouting in Pack 27.
Typically, the meat dish is provided by the pack, Tigers bring desserts, and side dishes are brought by Wolves, Bears, and Webeloes. For many years, Bart Wood of Little Dooey has prepared the barbeque pork for the banquet.
The tradition of Blue and Gold Banquets has been with us since 1943, and is considered to be an annual celebration of the birthday of scouting. Each banquet provides entertainment via scout skits, great food, ranks and awards, the passing-out of pinewood derby cars, and a guest speaker.
